This is what I think Thomas Edison meant:
Although we all have good ideas, only those who work hard to make them happen become successful.
In other words, it is impossible for our visions to become a reality without hard work.

Thomas Edison tried 3000 filaments before he made a practical light bulb. Think about it...2999 mistakes before he got it right...talk about perspiration...Don't give up...PERSEVERE!
